Track and Field power couple Ashton Eaton and Brianne Theisen-Eaton who just got hitched just last month did something that no two couple in Track and Field have ever done. They both captured medals in the same major world championship and also in the same event! In the multi-events American, Ashton earned a gold medal in the decathlon with 8809 points and representing Canada, Brianne earned her first major medal earning a silver medal in the women´s heptathlon with 6530 points. Brianne watched Ashton compete on Sunday and two days later Ashton was cheering her on to her silver medal. What a beggining to a great honeymoon. Hopefully the couple can get out to a more exotic location other than a rubberized running surface after the competitions end on August 18th.
*Inside Story of the day: So a few months ago Brianne and Ashton were training in the javelin, and as she practiced throws Ashton ran over to the left side to pick up some other track equiptment. Unfortunately(or fortunately I guess) her next throw was a little left and she screamed just before it hit Ashton. Thankfully Ashton heard her and used his cat-like athleticism to dodge the ancient weapon. He wasn´t injured but was hit in the lip. Crazy but 100% true :)
