Review Of ESPN Documentary: The Race That Shocked The World

"Best Documentary Ever"

Let me start by saying, don't let the heading fool you. Well actually I'd be lying if I didn't say this was my favorite track documentary ever, I dare say even the best Sports documentary ever because it covers an extremely important era in sports.  The 80's... The time when doping was rampant in every sport and everybody knew but know one knew, you know what I mean. The doc starts with every guy that was on the line for the 100m dash on that faithful evening in Seoul, Korea.  Those who follow track know what happened next......  Track lovers and sports enthusiasts should enjoy the doc from start to beginning.  It is after all produced by my beloved ESPN the only channel I watch on the rare occasion the television is turned on.  So sit back, relax, and watch the pristine HD version on Youtube.  I think its the only one with such great quality.

Ben Johnson Want To Race Usain Bolt

Ben Johnson was recently interviewed by BBC Sports in the UK.  Labeled as the poster boy of doping since his infamous 1988 race. See it here, I believe there has to be some forgiveness in the sport on this guy.  Often in media and especially sports, we tend to find one person we can throw all our anger into for cheating and mistakes many others in the same sport make,  no baseball references needed here.  Something of particular interest:  During the interview he claims he would have beaten Usain Bolt in his younger days.  Sometimes there are certain things you can say "we'll never know to."  I think it is safe to say this in NOT one of those times haha.
